Mosaic Work at New Belgium Brewery

I went on the tour of the New Belgium Brewery with my family that was in Fort Collins visiting for the holidays. The factory is full of art, mostly recycled and found,my kind of place. Part of the tour takes you by their enormous brewing kettles. Under these kettles is some amazing mosaic work. These mosaics were created by Mario Echevarria assisted by Public Arts Associates These mosaics are beautiful and certainly the highlight of the tour for me.

Paper Vessel Workshop at Bennett IB World School

Here are some pictures of a paper vessel workshop I did with the 3rd grade classes at Bennett IB school in Fort Collins, Colorado. We used recycled newspapers to create these baskets (Some of which, I believe were given for Christmas presents) The classes created these baskets as part of their unit on creativity. They also studied Picasso and all of his different 'periods' of work. Very cool!

New Studio Space at Fort Collins Museum of Contemporary Art

This week, I decided to get a studio space at the Fort Collins Museum of Contemporary Art. The costs of renovating the house ran up and, alas, the home studio needs to take some more time (and money) to be completed.

Fort Collins MOCA is located in the Old Post Office on Mountain Avenue in Old Town Fort Collins. They have two spaces I am interested in, I will post pictures once I move in. I think this will be an exciting turn of events, get out in my new community.

Lost in the Remodeling Fog

As you might have noticed, my posts have been few and far between lately.

Instead of making art, I have been remodeling a house with all of the joys and frustrations that encompasses.

Here are a few pictures of the two bathrooms I have tiled using recycled ceramic tile. The third is in the process,I willpost pictures of that once it is complete.
