SCALP in ROCKY MOUNT, NC

This piece was created using a lacing technique with cotton twine and hairpins. It measures about 7" in diameter and 2" high. It is currently on exhibit at "Handcrafted" at the Rocky Mount Arts Center in Rocky Mount, NC.(See current shows for more details) I haven't been able to get down to see the exhibit, but I hear that the new Rocky Mount Arts Center is a beautiful building. When I had first graduated from School of Design at NC State I was in a show called "You Floor Me" that was displayed in the old Arts Center. It was a pretty funky gallery created on the interior of an old water tank, I am not kidding. The walls were slightly rounded and it made the installing and viewing a bit...lets say different. Hurricane Fran took care of that building when devastating floods destroyed many buildings in Rocky Mount, including that one.
