Flat Stanley Visits Washington DC

My nephew sent us his Flat Stanley project to take around Washington DC. If you aren't familiar with the project, it is based onthebook "Flat Stanley" by Pete Seeger. In the book, a smallboy, Stanley Lambchop gets flattened by his bulletin board. He then has an assortment of adventures, including being mailed to California to visit his cousins. That is where this project comes in. Students create small, flat versions of themselves and send them to friends and relatives who document Stanley's adventures and send him back to his owners. We had alot of fun. The best part was taking Stanley to see the Steven Colbert portrait at the portrait gallery!
