Recycled Art with St. Paul's Episcopal Kids

I helped the children at St. Paul's Episcopal Church create an entry for the Garbage Garage's Recycled Art Contest "Trash to Treasure". It was fun, the kids came up with a concept about rainbows out of bottle caps. They asked the congregation to collect caps and used them to make this lovely mobile type piece. For more info about the contest go here.

Dear Elizabeth,

i'm a graduating student at the faculty of architecture in Budapest, Hungary. My diploma work is a recycling art center for kids and my question is how do you make the raw materials clean, or how do you know, that the donated things are clean so you can give the children? In Hungary there isn't any recycling center like yours, that is why I ask you and i would be glad to have your answer.

Yours faithfully
