I am so excited to be working with Bonnie Lebesch on this wonderful Community Art project. "Flowers Lead to Fruit" will re-envision the windows with the help of the Fort Collins Community. Follow our progress at the Facebook page for the project. You can also check out our instagram feed at #ftccarnegie.
Here are some events the Community is invited to participate in:
Step back in history to meet Andrew Carnegie on:
• Thursday, August 18, 6-7:30 and
• Saturday, August 20, 12:30-2pm
Community Creative Center, 200 Mathews St., Fort Collins
Join us again to help paint the panels:
• Wed - Sat, Sept 14-17 and Sept 21-24, 12 - 6pm daily
Community Creative Center, 200 Mathews St., Fort Collins
The artists were inspired by a Latin inscription on a Carnegie
Library building in France that translates to “Flowers Lead to Fruit,”
reflecting Carnegie’s vision of his libraries becoming centers of
knowledge and facilitating the flowering of the mind. This concept
will guide the design of the panels which will also illustrate ideas of
creativity, collaboration, innovation and economic vitality.
“Just as the Community Creative Center is breathing new life into this historic
building, the new window panels will express the vitality that artists infuse into a
community,” -Jeanne Shoaff, Gallery Coordinator, Community Creative Center.
