I will celebrate Mother's Day by teaching a workshop on how to make coiled forms using paper and staples. This process is the one I used to create the "Digest" installation at this year's Art-o-Matic. The workshop will be held on Sunday, May 13 - 3:00pm-5:00pm in the Lapis Auditorium; 2121 Crystal Drive, Arlington, Va. Metro stop: Crystal City Free admission. Donations accepted.
This workshop will teach how to make coiled paper baskets(like the ones pictured here). Using recycled paper and staples, participants will learn how to build small baskets. To participate in this workshop, participants are asked to bring the following items: Recycled paper (Newspaper is fine), a stapler and staples, glue, a ruler, pencil, and acrylic gel medium (optional).
