York Central Market

During my visit to York, Pennsylvania to do the installation for YORKARTS Arts & Industry show, I ate several times at the York Central Market. This market is typical for the East Coast. Historically, they have been places for farmers and other trades people to sell their items. More famous markets are located in Washington DC (Eastern Market), Philadelphia (Reading Terminal Market), and Baltimore (Lexington Market). I really didn't expect to find one in little old York. But I did find a great one with lots of stories.

My favorite was a little shop called JR's Fresh Cut Fries. I was told by the staff at Yorkarts that JR's was their favorite place to go because it had "The best customer service in York." They were right. The guys at JR's hooked me up with the best fries I have had in a long time. We talked about Colorado and the market and during the course of our conversation, I found out that these guys not only run this great stand in the market, but that they also work full time at the local Harley Davidson plant. WOW! Talk about great local business! These guys were great. Here are a few photos of the stand and the market. Enjoy!
